Leather Cleaning in New York City & New Jersey

Leather Cleaning in New York City & New Jersey

Leather is one of the toughest materials to maintain. Our leather cleaning service takes that problem off your hands. We provide a comprehensive procedure which restores the original luster and aroma of leather seats. We provide a safe, no mess - no fuss service where a leather cleanser is applied to remove all soiling from the surface of the leather hide. This is a time consuming process, completed by hand to ensure that your valuable soft furnishing is restored to as close to as-new condition as possible. When the leather has been professionally cleaned and restored a refinishing cream and a protective coating is applied to further enhance the appearance and protect the leather from wear, tear and spills.

Causes of Leather Deterioration

1. Oils and Grease — Body oils from both humans and animals attach and hold onto leather. Hair and hand oils are easily transferred to the head cushions and arm rests of the furniture and can cause serious damage to the protective finishes found on leather.

2. Atmospheric Soils — Consider the dust that builds up on a coffee table or desk over a week's time. This same dust is being deposited on your leather. In addition to this dust you add airborne cooking oils and atmospheric pollutants that are present—to some degree—in every home.

3. Common Soils — These soils include the common dirt tracked in from outside along with sand and fibers from plants. The fibers are brought in the home by adults, kids and pets and attach to the leather every time the furniture is used.

4. Dyes and Inks — The inks from newsprint in newspapers can readily be deposited on leather. Clothes such as denims can transfer dye onto leather in a process called dye transfer. The direct ink from a leaky pen or the aspiring toddler artist should not be forgotten.
